The Purpose, The Process, The Penman

Who am I?  Chief Sinner.  I am from Deer Park, Alabama, which is where the music is produced.  The Lord gave me a little bit of musical talent so I felt burdened to play for Him.  I also feel led to share the messages in the songs.  So, I pen the songs for God.  I predominantly produce Christian concept albums, but I do have a few family friendly singles about friends and family.

The process of producing music is a lengthy endeavor, particularly the mixing and mastering phase as that is a never-ending learning experience for me.  The vocals seem to always be a challenge for me too.  I perform all the instruments except drums (Gyro Newman performs drums on Volume 1 and Cameron Alidor performs drums on Volumes 2 and 3) and the recording process is usually routine.  Writing the songs is sporadic as I write them whenever that feeling comes over me.

Sometimes, I want to give up, but I am greatly appreciative of all those who have helped me.  However, my music ministry could certainly use more support from others.  Selling music is not my primary goal.  I would love to hear other vocalists with great talent perform some of these songs.  If you are interested, contact me for free sheet music.

Finally, I feel that there is a purpose for the music to go beyond the status quo, which drives me to write music that is different.  There are various things I employ that help me create music that could be considered a departure from what many listeners are accustomed to hearing.  I am very conscience about the messages being delivered as well.  In the end, I am trying to make music for God that may resonate with others and be a blessing to them.  If you enjoy the music, praise the Lord, not me!
